Testimonials

"Elizabeth is an extremely talented photographer! We have a two year-old son who is very active. Elizabeth was able to capture the most beautiful shots of him, and we had a hard time choosing what pictures to order because they were all so good! We look forward to working with her again many times in the future. " - Christina from Anderson

"These photos are beautiful! You truly captured all of their sweet personalities. Thank you. You are so very talented!”- Erin, Mom of First Communicant

"Elizabeth is an outstanding photographer! Her ability to take photos of children that are completely natural is remarkable. During sessions she is patient and can get even the most difficult of personalities to shine. I've had Elizabeth shoot family photos for the past three years in a summer garden setting and everyone always asks - who took those amazing photos...I think that's the best compliment I can give."- Kelley from Louisville, KY

Digital Negatives

• A digital download of your posted session images may be purchased for $200 (images printable up to 8x10), plus tax.  You may download the images to as many devices as you like within a 14 day period.  If you miss your window and more than 90 days have passed since your session, an archive fee of $25 may be assessed for a new download.

DVD's are also available (shipping is $10), though I recommend that you immediately save all the images to your computer and NOT rely on the DVD to store your images as this technology is quickly becoming phased out.  Take this as a cue to get everything else you have on DVD saved onto a backup drive now!

Single image downloads may be purchased from the photographer for $30 each (printable to 8x10).

"Touched up" or edited images resulting from any print order ordered within two weeks of either your viewing session or image release date will be included in the digital download or on the DVD.

Information

Best time to schedule a session

There is no 9-5 here. I schedule appointments at all hours, especially to accommodate headshot needs for busy executives or to capture the great light of summer and fall evenings. For infants and children, mornings often work well, but plan a time when your child will be well rested and fed. I am always happy to take a break if a baby needs to nurse or have a bottle, or if a child needs a snack.

In the Fall and early winter, we can shoot outdoors almost any time of day, though afternoons are typically the warmest. During the spring and summer, the best lighting falls in early morning (before noon) and late afternoon (after 3:00 pm).

Location
You name the place: your home, backyard, favorite park, gardens, or even an apple orchard.  My favorite locations are in Mother Nature's Studio, so you name it and we can do it.  Too vague for you and need some more ideas?  Check my Blog post here with some photos of some of my favorite Cincinnati/East side locations.

Oh, and we are "on" until we are "off" so if the forecast is iffy, plan to go.  We will make the call at the last minute if we need to reschedule.  Some of my favorite shoots have been just after a summer rain shower.  If it is going to be cold, plan accordingly.  And chances are if you book between November and March, it could very well be cold!  I recommend hand and foot warmers...cold people are not happy people and happy people are generally more likely to smile!

For indoor shoots, I use both natural and studio lighting. Indoor shoots may be at my home in the Anderson/Turpin area or I can bring my studio to your home or place of business (for corporate photos).

What to wear
Ahhh, the big dilemma. The clothing is your choice but keep in mind that simple, timeless clothing in solid colors really photographs best. That being said, bold stripes and hats with fun patterns can make for an endearing picture. It all depends on the look you want.  For a more formal picture, steer away from clothing with large patterns or writing that can be distracting and take away from the essence of the portraits, you and your family.

If there are multiple people in the photograph, please think of the outfits as a whole, and keep colors and patterns complimentary. That being said, try not to fret. Your photo is cherished for who is in it, not what they are wearing! Make it fun. If your child has a special toy, blanket or stuffed animal, feel free to bring it along.

For Senior Pictures and extended sessions, please bring several changes of clothing.

For infant sessions, please try to contact me while you are still pregnant to set-up a tentative newborn session. I love to photograph newborns under the age of two weeks when ever possible.

About the Session
*Please leave your cameras at home, you are hiring me to take your portraits. You will love your photos if you get into the mood and "play" with your family to get them smiling and interacting naturally.

It’s very important to show up on time for your session. It’s also helpful to have your children already dressed when you arrive. We all know clothing changes can be very stressful on children, now add their photography session on top of that...we may lose their attention and happy demeanor before the session even starts.
